Solid paraffin with a high fluoride content for racing use as a final product or as a base product for overlaying FP4 perfluorinated waxes. Use on snow temperatures from -12° to -6°C. Humidity 60% to 100%. For new or stored abrasive snow mixed with artificial snow, mix with HP3 GREEN or LP2 GREEN if the humidity is lower. Apply hot with a waxing iron.
GENERAL PRINCIPLES
The application of hydrocarbon paraffins (Med or Soft Racing Base or BP1), fluorinated hydrocarbon paraffins (LP2 or HP3) and perfluorinated waxes FP4 allows certain overlaps based on the following chemical affinities:
Hydrocarbon paraffin alone (Med or Soft Racing Base or BP1) or mixed with other hydrocarbon paraffins;
Fluorinated hydrocarbon paraffin alone (LP2 or HP3) or mixed with other hydrocarbon paraffins;
Perfluorinated wax FP4 alone or mixed with other perfluorinated waxes but in any case superimposed on a fluorinated hydrocarbon paraffin (LP2 or HP3).
The direction in waxing operations must always be from the tip to the tail of the tool.
Racing waxing can be done hot or cold depending on the physical state of the products and the experience of the skiman.
APPLICATION METHOD WITH WAXING IRON
• Drip the paraffin block onto the base for 20 cm, placing it in contact with the base of the waxing iron at a temperature of 140°C.
• Then spread the wax with a regular forward motion (from tip to tail). Repeat the operation for the entire base and finally make a continuous pass from tip to tail.
• 2.b (mix with GREEN powder) On the layer of HP3 VIOLET just melted, spread a layer of GREEN powder (the quantity depends on how new and abrasive the snow is, whether it is preserved crystal and/or artificial snow) and with the waxing iron at 140°C, make a continuous pass from tip to tail at low speed (about 1cm per second) perfectly melting the powder into the solid paraffin underneath.
• Wait at least 15 minutes to allow the wax to solidify and the base to cool;
• Remove excess wax with a sharp plexiglass spatula, applying little pressure;
• Free the side of the ski and the lateral face of the edges from solidified paraffin;
• Free the imprint with a soft steel manual brush;
• Brush the impression with a manual or rotating brush made of stiff hair;
• Polish the impression with a manual or rotating soft nylon brush.
